I see that this is really like arriving late to the party, and I have voted, but I would like your definition of 'author alcoves' and 'other'. Might help.

"Author Alcove" is when a post is made on an author and sort of the common theme in his/her work (see my Louis de Wohl post). "Other" is anything people can think of (TV shows was one suggestion).
